The areas of development are:
Personal, Social and Emotional
Communication Language and Literacy
Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
Physical
Creative
We recognise that each area of development is of equal importance, however we firmly believe that the area of Personal and Social Development is a key area, this is why we put strong emphasis on praise, value and respect. If a child is happy and confident they can make the most of the learning opportunities presented to them.
Learning new skills can be great fun!
At Sunny Days Preschool we firmly believe and follow the The four Principles of the EYFS.
These are:
Every child is a competent learner from
birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
Children learn to be strong and independent
from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key
person.
The environment plays a key role in supporting
and extending children’s development and learning.
Children develop and learn in different
ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are
equally important and inter-connected.
At Sunny Days Preschool we seek to provide an environment which promotes development and enables your child to grow in all of the developmental areas.
In order to assist your child grow at their optimum rate. We provide realistic goals and shower them with praise; celebrating their achievements; thus developing their self-esteem and confidence in their own abilities.
In the video clip on the right (Developing Confidence) we can see a 3 year old girl enjoying gaining confidence while balancing along a low beam. Developing balance and control is a key factor in keeping safe and avoiding accidents, whilst confidence means that a child is happy to try new things and therefore gain more experience and understanding of the world around them. At the end of the clip you can hear the other children, whom have been waiting patiently for their turn, give her lots of enthusiastic praise.
